Get to Know One of Our RECS MVPs: Mike DePetris!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our RECS Member Survey! (If you haven’t filled out our member survey, you have until August 31st to do so!) It was a great opportunity that allowed us to gain valuable feedback on what’s working, what’s not, and what you would like to see more of in our clubs. We’ve already made some adjustments based on your feedback, including introducing DUPR and introducing our new Network Membership that allows you to use your membership at multiple RECS locations.

One of the questions that we asked in our survey were about staff members that made a positive impact on member’s experiences. One of the staff members who were mentioned many times was one of our Clackamas Front Desk staff members — Mike DePetris! We sat down with Mike to get to know him better and asked him a few questions, including what he would take if he was on a deserted island, his hype song, and more!

What’s your favorite part about working at RECS?

My favorite part about working at RECS is definitely getting to know everyone, our members have some of the most amazing stories out there. All it takes is asking a few questions to those members and you guys tend to open up — so my favorite part really is getting to know all of you.

What’s your go to hype song before playing a match?

This is a tricky question, because it’s changed in the last month or so. It was Nookie by Limp Bizkit, but I’ve since found out I need to be calm for my games, so now it’s Smooth Operator by Sade.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

I would bring my wife, my dog, and an unlimited supply of Greatful Dead music!

What’s something that most members don’t know about you?

The one thing that most members don’t know about me — and don’t share this with anybody beyond RECS everyone — is that I was a fan of 90210.
